Burne Hogarth's Tarzan

Here's some magisterial splendour from Burne Hogarth, courtesy of our old pal Nefarious Neil Hansen. Back in 1972 & 1976, Hogarth put out two of the earliest attempts at a full Tarzan graphic novel, with Tarzan Of  The Apes and Jungle Tales Of Tarzan respectively.
And me and Philbo snapped them up at Cambridge's legendary remaindered bookshop, where we got all this kind of stuff. But I don't think I've seen it in black & white, as in this version.
When I was a kid, the one issue I did have with Hogarth, I'll admit, was the way his figures always looked posed, as if Tarzan was working at a life drawing class on his evenings off.
I still kind of feel like that, but now I think it works, making the Apeman appear more godlike and epic, and Hogarth's way of drawing plants and foliage is magnificent, while you could drown in his linework.
This is sheer class.
