Wally Wood's Plucked!

A quick detour back to the '50's today, with one of EC's ( and Wally Wood's ) greatest. It's co-written by EC founders Bill Gaines & Al Feldstein, as nearly all their material was, and coloured by a young Marie Severin.
Plucked is, if you think about it, one of the most terrifying things you'll ever read. Really. How do you know, for sure, that this isn't happening to you right now?

  1. That's right, we can't say for sure we're not being farmed for dinner by alien invaders behind hypnotic screens right now.

On the other hand, its also worth pointing out that it doesn't seem to have occurred to the prof that emigration to the new world might account for a fall in population in mid-eighteenth century England, and large scale movements of human beings occur throughout history.

Still, we can definitely be certain that Wally Wood was awesomely fantastic.

  2. There has never been a title for a comic book in all of history as cool as "WEIRD SCIENCE".
I don't care whether the comic itself is any good or not, the title alone sells it for me.
It tells you everything you need to know.
I think I'm going to go listen to some Oingo Boingo now.

  3. Titling a comic book is something of a lost art these days, MP.
Although personally, I'm not entirely convinced Weird Science is a cooler title than Bizarre Sex, Slow Death or Insect Fear.

    1. I edited that out of the comment before posting :)
Speaking of which, how are plans for a dodgy version of BAOB going?

  5. Yeh, I'll get to it once I find the time / get a few more followers / regulars - it's on the cards, I think.
